A Ministerial Session of the inaugural Permanent Joint Commission for Cooperation (PJCC) between Ghana and Sierra Leone, was held in Accra on Thursday, 23rd April, 2026.
Ghana’s delegation was led by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), while the Sierra Leonean delegation was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Francess Piagie Alghali.
The session was preceded by a two-day technical meeting between senior officials and experts from Ghana and Sierra Leone.
The Ministerial Session
concluded with the signing of one (1) Agreement and six (6) Memoranda of Understanding.
These included
i) Agreement on Defence Military Cooperation
ii) MoU on Cooperation in the Field of Electric Power Development and Management
iii) MoU on Intelligence and Security Cooperation
iv) MoU on Cocoa Sector Development Cooperation
v) MoU on Political Consultations
vi) MoU on Cooperation in the Fields of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts
vii) MoU on Cooperation in the Field Health
